“I have worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Oncology and Joint Reconstructive surgeon for 5 years, and have been active at the following hospitals:
- Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital
- Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital
- Busamed Paardevlei Hospital
- Groote Schuur Hospital
- Red Cross Children’s Hospital“
What would you say is your biggest achievement in your career to date?
“Passing my fellowship and taking over the Oncology & Joint Reconstructive Unit at Groote Schuur and Red Cross Hospitals. I also performed one of the first Van Ness rotationplasty operations in 2022. Lastly, I am proud of the Oncology fellowship that I have set up in association with the South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA).”
What made you decide to start collecting electronic outcome data?
“I knew I needed to produce high-quality data for my research projects, and to do that I needed to collect and monitor patient outcomes. The data also needs to be easily and quickly accessed as well as in a format that can be smoothly analysed.“

“I want to produce data for studies and contribute and develop the South African Orthopaedic Registry (SAOR). I also want my clinical notes at my fingertips.“

“I enjoy DIY projects and my next goal is to build a golf simulator!”
